We have straight away got into provisional groups, i am in the group of four in our class. We began listening to the songs and ideas each person had come up with over the summer holidays, mine were :

Cities in Dust - Junkie XL
This was the first of the ideas we looked into more by brainstorming.
Immediately from listening to the song we knew what type of image the band would have, a small group of girls with a pop/rock look to them, being all about strong sexy girls appealing to teen ages girls as they would want to be them/ admire them.
We were listening to another similar song in the same genre called Cherry something, we liked cherry something as a name so joined it with the song name to get Cherry Dust. A lot of ideas began forming after this, with a concept of having large amounts of glitter falling all over the girls as they were getting ready to perform. We could do lots of effective stylistic shots of the glitter falling onto them and shinning in the light. The idea for the band image came as well, to have Cherries to be the symbol of the band. It's such an easy common object to market things like merchandising, and easily memorable as a logo. We also had ideas of involving a seductive scene with a boy and leaving glitter covering.
Call me Maybe - Carly Rae Jepson
We were playing some random songs trying to find one we liked for new ideas and this came on and we all started singing and dancing so we thought how that happened in flash mobs. This song became a craz very quickly and we have all found that when it comes on anywhere people will sing and dance to it, so we looked up some flash mobs like this:
When brainstorming we liked the idea of some hand held work, which would give it more of a natural feel which would be an important element to the video, it would have to feel none staged and the natural reaction from the crowd would be key. If we could pull it off this video could be great but already we are finding many problems of where would we do it where there would be enough people, would people actually join in, what would we do with bad weather conditions, how many start up dancers would we need, etc. So its already proving difficult but if it worked we think it would be really good.
Video Games - Lana Del Rey
For this idea we sort of came up with a concept for the video before we chose the song. The narrative would be an almost life story of the singer, we thought of having the band and then there being a little girl that looks similar to the lead girl. The basic concept would be to show the girl being hit by her mum so she runs out of the house and goes on a sort of adventure, a sort of surreal place to get away from the problems at home. An other idea some one thought of for this video was for it all of most of it to be in back and white, maybe the bad scenes with her mum to highlight the colour when she goes off. The video would end with her turning up home, so would sort of finish of inconclusively not knowing what happens with the mum. The singer could be telling her story in this song as maybe she wrote it to get past problems and sharing the story with her fans is a way of connecting and showing what she had to deal with.
There is an option of using Shelter - Birdy as the lyrics maybe would fit more with the story, but both are an option.
